Shenzhen Second People's Hospital
Shenzhen Second People's Hospital was established in 1980, is a modern comprehensive hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, rehabilitation, preventive healthcare, and health education. In 2008, with approval from the Ministry of Education, the hospital became the “First Affiliated Hospital of Shenzhen University”.
The hospital occupies a land area of 37,000 m² with a built area of 136,000 m² and operates with 1,910 open beds.
The hospital has 3,369 employees, 1,034 doctors and 1,343 nurses. Among them, there are 746 with senior titles, 386 with doctorate degrees, 7 experts enjoying the State Council's special governmental allowance, and 98 post-doctoral fellows in residence.
In 2023, Our annual outpatient and emergency visits exceeded 2.06 million, and the number of discharged patients reached 91,438.

We have new technologies and advanced equipments, including luminal, robotic surgery, PET-CT, spiral CT, DSA, Da Vinci robot, strive to create a technology-driven clinical discipline group, and carry out robotic surgery and other international cutting-edge high-precision treatment technologies. In the past five years, we have carried out more than 130 pioneering new technologies and projects at home and abroad, and led or participated in the formulation of more than 110 diagnostic and treatment standards, guidelines, consensus and technical specifications.
The Foot and Ankle Surgery team completed the international first case of minimally invasive treatment for talus cartilage injury with reverse drilling under robotic navigation.
The Functional Neurology department, in cooperation with Corning Hospital and Tsinghua University, completed the international first case of ROSA robot-assisted 3T MRI-compatible DBS stimulation of the lateral rein nucleus for treatment of refractory depression, epoch-making Shenzhen as a city capable of conducting psychosurgery.
The Burns and Plastic Surgery department successfully treated a 12-year-old child with 97% TBSA third-degree burns, reaching the world's leading standards and reflecting the hospital's comprehensive treatment level and ability to treat public emergencies.

Our international exchanges and cooperation began in 1986. As the First Affiliated Hospital and the first clinical medical college of Shenzhen University, we closely integrate clinical teaching with medical practice and have established the first comprehensive teaching system within Shenzhen health sector. We are the first hospital in Shenzhen to be approved as the post-doctoral research station.
In July 2023, the hospital was officially approved for independent recruitment qualification for postdoctoral research stations, becoming the first hospital in Shenzhen to be approved as the postdoctoral research station.
